Seven Spooky Reads I’ll Be Reading This Fall

Hi everyone! With October and the scary season well underway, it’s about time I shared my Fall TBR with you. I’ve got some really exciting reads lined up for the next couple of months – I actually didn’t end up reading anything last month due to how hectic university life was which means I’ve still got some of my most anticipated September reads to get to. I can’t wait to share my thoughts on all of these once I get through them!

Before I get into it, though, I just wanted to take a moment to tell you update you all on my very exciting news! Some of you might know that I’m part of the Feed My Reads community and I was nominated for book blogger of the year award! If you enjoy my blog, then I would be incredibly grateful if you could vote for me here – it only takes a moment.

My other exciting news is that I did an interview all about my blog! Some of you may remember that last year Todd Sullivan kindly sent me a copy of The Windshine Chronicles series to review and in spring he contacted me about doing an interview for his Youtube channel – which is now up, if you want to check it out! Now back to the post.

Nothing More To Tell by Karen McManus

Goodreads: Nothing More To Tell

Initial Thoughts: I’ve read nearly all of McManus’ other books, so I’m really excited to finally read this! I love the true crime theme as well as the idea of a student investigating a teacher’s murder. I really hope it will meet all my expectations!

The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Goodreads: The Final Gambit

Initial Thoughts: After loving both The Inheritance Games and The Hawthorne Legacy when I read them earlier this year, I have high hopes for the finale! I’m really excited to see more of Avery and the brothers, and I have a feeling this one will have a lot of action. I can’t wait for the ride!

The Murder Game by Carrie Doyle

Goodreads: The Murder Game

Initial Thoughts: This is actually another one about a student trying to solve a teacher’s murder! I love that this is one is set at a boarding school – I think that could really ramp up the tension – and I can’t wait to find out the truth about Mrs Heckler’s murder.

If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio

Goodreads: If We Were Villains

Initial Thoughts: I’ve heard so many amazing things about this and I’m so excited to see what all the hype is about! I don’t read much dark academia, but I’m already hooked by this mystery surrounding an elite Shakespeare group – and what happens when one of them is murdered.

Verity by Colleen Hoover

Goodreads: Verity

Initial Thoughts: I still haven’t read anything by Colleen Hoover yet – but I think this is the perfect place to start! I love books about writers, and this sounds like it will be incredibly creepy! I already want to know the truth about Verity’s daughter’s death.

White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson

Goodreads: White Smoke

Initial Thoughts: Honestly, I don’t read a lot of horror – in fact, I haven’t touched the genre since Frozen Charlotte a year ago – but I’m thrilled to expand my horizons with this. I love the sound of the haunted house and I really do think this is perfect for Halloween!

Ace Of Spades by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

Goodreads: Ace Of Spades

Initial Thoughts: This has been on my TBR for what feels like forever, so I’m really hoping I can finally get to it in the coming months! I’m already curious about who’s behind all the texts and I’m so here for all the drama.

Have you read any of these? What books will you be reading this Fall? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

  2. Congrats on your nominee and YouTube review. The fall picks seem great. I don’t read horror either so won’t pick hard-core horror. But I liked the first book and the villains titled plots. Will check them out. Thanks for always recommending nice picks. Xx
