The Ice Cream Book Tag

Hi everyone! Today I’m back with another tag post to celebrate the long summer days. I don’t know about you, but I’m in the UK at the moment and we’re experiencing a big heat wave – which means it’s the perfect excuse for ice cream! So, naturally, today I’m going to be participating in the Ice Cream Book Tag, which was created by erikasteaparty. Now let’s get into it!

Peanut Butter

A very long book series that you really want to read, but probably won’t and why.

I think I’m going to have to go with Throne Of Glass by Sarah J. Mass! I’ve heard so many amazing things about it and really want to see what all the hype is about, but I don’t think I’ll ever get to it. There’s something about book series in general that’s really intimidating to me at the moment and this is one of the longest ones I’ve heard of, so I don’t think I’ll be reading it any time soon.

Chocolate

A book you would read over and over and over and over again.

Honestly, I don’t usually do a lot of rereads (I have way too many unread books on my shelves waiting to be picked up) but whenever I do I turn to the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. I love this series so much, I read it years ago and was instantly hooked and I can’t wait for my next reread – when I can find the time, that is!

Pistachio

A book with a green cover.

Hollow Men by Todd Sullivan! Todd kindly sent over the whole Windshine Chronicles trilogy to me late last year in exchange for my honest reviews, and I ended up really enjoying them. I don’t read much fantasy so it made a nice change to my usual reads, and I love the characters and world building throughout the series – I’d really recommend picking it up!

Strawberry

A book with the cutest romance.

There are honestly so many I could pick for this – I’ve been reading loads of romance this year too so I have a massive selection! With that being said, a new favourite of mine is Better Than The Movies by Lynn Painter – it’s honestly so good! Liz and Wes are absolutely adorable together and it has absolutely everything you’d want from a good romance. I don’t think I’ll ever stop recommending this!

Lemon

A book with a sour ending.

Last One To Die by Cynthia Murphy! I went into this with such high expectations, I love a good mystery so this should’ve been exactly my sort of thing – but it just fell so short. I found the twist really predictable and I was so disappointed when I was right about the ending, which was such a let down.

Mint

A children’s book that you like.

I’ve already used Harry Potter, so I’m going to go with Summer’s Dream by Cathy Cassidy! Cathy was my favourite author when I was younger, I was really lucky in that I emailed her a couple of times, got featured on her blog and met her twice. I read all of her books numerous times but Summer’s Dream was always my favourite, and it left a really big mark on me – like all great books should.

Vanilla

Your favorite classic.

I’m going to be completely honest with you, I haven’t read nearly as many classics as other readers/bloggers – I simply have too many books on my backlist to get through without adding more – but my favourite that I have read is Pride And Prejudice by Jane Austen. I read it a couple of years and ended up really enjoying it, I thought the setting was really interesting and enjoyed the different relationship dynamics too.

Whipped Cream

A very long book that you read really, really fast.

That’s a tough one – I don’t actually read very long books nowadays (I tend to stick to medium length ones). With that being said, The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue is fairly long and I remember whizzing through that – I was swept up in the magic of Addie’s world and needed to know what would happen to her. I also loved the connection she developed with Henry!

Have you read any of these? Will you participating in this book tag? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to check out your post!

I hope you enjoyed this tag!

  4. I’ve never read or watched Harry Potter but the reviews and feedback been good from literally everyone who’s ever talked about it around me, I should give that a try. This is probably off topic but my all-time favourite book is The Alchemist. I enjoyed reading this post 💛

I completely agree with your comments on Throne of Glass. It sounds like an interesting series, but it is intimidating! I also agree the Harry Potter series is fun to reread.
Better Than The Movies sounds like such a sweet book, but it’s a shame Last One To Die was a let down.
