Hi everyone! We’re officially well into summer and the longer days that come with it – along with the sun! To celebrate the start of the warmest season, I thought it would be fun to participate in a book tag, which is when I stumbled across the Life’s A Beach Book Tag. This tag was created by Lefty, the Left-Handed Book Lover. Now let’s get onto it!
THE SAND
A BOOK THAT STUCK WITH YOU LONG AFTER YOU FINISHED READING

The Invisible Life Of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab has taken up a portion of my brain ever since I finished it last year. Addie is definitely up there with my favourite book characters of all time and I really want to read more V.E. Schwab books now – their writing style is so beautiful! Someone on Instagram brought up rereads to me and now I really want to.
THE SUN
A BOOK THAT BURNED YOU

That would be You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao! This was such an emotional read, the ending had me in tears and I know Julie and Sam will stay with me for a long time. This taught me so many important lessons, most significantly that nothing in life is guaranteed, and I think it will always have a special place in my heart.
THE WAVES
A BOOK THAT CALMS YOU DOWN AFTER A LONG DAY

For years my comfort book has always been The Sun Is Also A Star by Nicola Yoon, so I’m going to go with that! I haven’t reread it in a while now but I always turn to it when I just need an old favourite to relax with. I love this book so much, Natasha and Daniel are both such amazing characters and I think it would have to be my favourite book by Nicola Yoon.
THE BATHING SUIT
A BOOK WITH A PRETTY, SUMMER-Y COVER

I’m going to go for Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon! I love the cover of this so much, the more you look at it the more details you find and it has the perfect summer vibes. The colours are absolutely amazing and so vibrant too!
THE BIRDS
A BOOK THAT IS EVERYWHERE

At this point it feels like It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover is literally everywhere… Along with every other Colleen Hoover book. I feel like I’m the only person in the book community who hasn’t read any of her books yet, but I did buy this back in April, so I’ll be reading it soon!
THE COMPANY
A BOOK WITH WONDERFUL CHARACTERS

I have to go for I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston for this! I recently finished this book and it was absolutely amazing – in fact, I’d put it up there with my top reads of the year. The characters were all absolutely wonderful and I loved how distinct and developed each one was. Chloe would definitely have to be my favourite – she was just so fierce and determined!
THE ICE-COLD DRINKS
A BOOK YOU ABSOLUTELY GULPED DOWN

I absolutely whizzed through She Gets The Girl by Rachael Lippincott and Alyson Derrick when I read it in April! I love this book so much, it’s another one in my favourite reads of the year and I really want to reread it again soon. Alex and Molly were such amazing characters and their story is one that has really stayed with me – I can never resist the ‘working together to get with their crushes only to fall for each other’ trope!
THE FUN MEMORIES
A BOOK YOU CAN’T WAIT TO RETURN TO

That would have to be The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han! I recently watched the TV series of this and ended up loving it so much (I can’t wait until season two!). I read the books years ago and really enjoyed them and now I think it’s time for a reread – I just need to get my hands on them first!
WHO DO YOU TAG?
Like usual, I’m opening this up to anyone and everyone who wants to take part – it’s such a fun tag to do and I’d really recommend it!
Have you read any of these? Will you participating in this book tag? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to check out your post!
I hope you enjoyed this tag!

Ahhh I hope you enjoy Addie LaRue when you do read it, it’s amazing! The cover for Everything, Everything is honestly gorgeous. I’m so sorry It Ends With Us was a disappointment for you, it’s the worst feeling when a hyped book completely falls flat 😦 Yesss the characters are something else in Shara Wheeler! Thank you so much for reading and commenting.
