Monthly Wrap Up: June 2022

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already time for another monthly wrap up – or that we’re already halfway through the year, for that matter. This year’s been quite weird in that (for me at least) it feels like the days themselves have been quite slow but the weeks and time itself has been going really quick, if that makes any sense? Maybe I’m the only one, haha!

This month’s been a really busy one for me, I had a really intense few weeks of A Levels (which are thankfully over now) which has meant I’ve had no time for reading. Despite that, once they finished last week I got straight back to reading, which means I still managed to read nearly two books this month, which I don’t think is too bad all things considered! Now let’s get into them.

Confessions Of An Alleged Good Girl by Joya Goffney

Rating: ✯✯✯✯✯

Thoughts: This was such an amazing read, and the perfect book to mark my return to reading! I loved this book so much, I saw lot of myself in Monique and the different relationships within this were all so great. Reggie was honestly perfect for her and I shipped them so much! Regular readers might recall how important character development is for me to enjoy a book and it was so great here. I also loved that this tackled the taboo surrounding sex, which honestly needs to be done more! Overall I would definitely recommend picking this one up, it’s so worth the read.

I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston

Rating: TBC

Thoughts: Ok, so I haven’t quite finished this one yet, but so far I’m really enjoying it! I love McQuiston’s style of writing and the characters are all absolutely brilliant. So far Chloe is definitely my favourite – I love how strong and fierce she is. I can’t wait to see what happens next and when they’ll find Shara – I’m loving the adventure so far!

Have you read any of these? What books did you read during June? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

  1. I have I Kissed Shara Wheeler on my TBR but I’ve also had a bunch of people tell me that I won’t enjoy it, so I’m nervous about reading it haha. I’ve had one GREAT experience with the author’s work and one not-so-great experience, so we’ll see how this one goes for me haha!

  2. Two books is a great effort when you’ve got exams on (good luck! Hope you get the results you want). Reading is such a great was to decompress after a stressful few weeks. Confessions Of An Alleged Good Girl sounds like a great read, I too find character development an important aspect.
