It’s Time For Another Book Haul! May 2022 Edition

Hi everyone! It’s officially time for another book haul post, which are always so much fun to write! I actually made a lot of new additions to my shelves during May, some of you may remember that my birthday was at the very end of the month and I was lucky enough to receive some books for that, as well as going into Torquay with my family (where, naturally, I ended up picking up a new book). I also went into Cardiff with my boyfriend the day before and we couldn’t resist paying Waterstones a visit! I hope you find your next great read here.

I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston

Initial Thoughts: I’ve honestly heard so many amazing things about Casey McQuiston but somehow I still haven’t read any of her books, which is crazy to me! When I found out I Kissed Shara Wheeler was releasing in May I knew I had to get my hands on it so I was really grateful when I received it for my birthday. It’s currently at the top of my tbr and I can’t wait to get into this contemporary featuring academic rivals to lovers and great friendships!

Confessions Of An Alleged Good Girl by Joya Goffney

Initial Thoughts: After reading Excuse Me While I Ugly Cry last year and loving it Joya Goffney became an auto-read author for me! This honestly sounds like such a great summer read, I always find myself reading for so many contemporaries during this time of year and this sounds like a really cute and unique one. I also love that this tackles the taboo surrounding sex, which I think needs to be explored in more books!

White Smoke by Tiffany D. Jackson

Initial Thoughts: This book has been on my TBR for what feels like forever, so I’m so thankful I received a copy for my birthday! Ever since I saw White Smoke was releasing wayyy back in September I knew I had to read it and I’m so glad I have the chance now. I don’t read much horror but this has already completely pulled me in and I’m really excited to read something a little different to my typical reads!

The Agathas by Kathleen Glasgow and Liz Lawson

Initial Thoughts: This was my birthday present from myself, haha! I swore off impulse buying a while back but when I stumbled across this I just couldn’t resist. If you’re a regular reader you’ll know I can never say no to a good mystery and this has all the beginnings of a great one! I love that Agatha Christie is a big part of this too, which seems all the more fitting considering I bought it in Torquay, her birthplace.

Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber

Initial Thoughts: This is another one that released in May! I’ve been reading a lot more fantasy than usual this year and I’ve seen some really great reviews of this so I knew I had to get it. I know the concept of twins being separated at birth has been done a few times but I don’t think I’ve seen one that one has pulled me in as much of this – I can’t wait to see who comes out on top!

Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Initial Thoughts: I have honestly heard so many amazing things about Taylor Jenkins Reid and I knew it was time to see what all the hype was about! I’m super excited to get into this, it has major summer vibes which I’m definitely here for and I love that it’s a mystery too – which means I can switch up my summer reading list a little!

Into The Crooked Place by Alexandra Christo

Initial Thoughts: After reading To Kill A Kingdom earlier this year and loving it I needed more Alexandra Christo! The set up of this actually reminds me a lot of Six Of Crows (which admittedly I haven’t read yet) and I love the idea of the four outsiders coming together to save the world.

And that’s it for today! As you can see I ended up with quite a variety, I’m so happy with all of these and I can’t wait to get into all of these now that my exams are finally over. I’m so excited for a school (and hopefully stress) free summer!

Have you read any of these? What new books have you been buying recently? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this haul!
