What is your favourite book of 2022 so far?

That’s such a good question… I’ve actually had an amazing reading year so far, I’ve enjoyed nearly every book I’ve read! That being said, I think it would have to be my first read of the year, You’ve Reached Sam. It was such an emotional book and it made me that much more grateful for everything that I have!

How many books do you plan on reading in 2022?

The official Goodreads goal is 60, although I’d still like to push myself to read more than that! Still, this year’s a very busy year for me, so I’d be happy with 60.

What is the last book you DNF’d?

I genuinely can’t remember! I have a really awful habit of forcing myself to finish every book I read (even if I’m really not enjoying it) in the hopes that it’ll get better. The closest I got to DNFing was over a year ago with Even If We Break, which didn’t work for me at all (and, in case you were wondering, it didn’t get better.)

Name a book that you’d reread!

So many! I could happily reread pretty much any of my contemporaries, haha. I’d really love to reread Only Mostly Devastated this summer though – it’s a fabulously modern and queer retelling of Grease, which is one of my favourite films! It’s so worth the read.

If you could be any book character, who would you be?

That’s such an interesting question! I’ve thought about it a lot and I think I’m going to go for Josie from Off The Record, though – as someone interested in the writing industry I’m more than a little jealous of her position, haha!

Questions for My Nominees

  1. What book are you most excited for that’s releasing later in 2022?
  2. What book has been the most surprising read in 2022?
  3. What’s your favourite book review or book themed post you’ve ever written?
  4. Do you prefer buying new books or working through your backlist?
  5. Who’s your ultimate book OTP?

My Nominees

  1. The Expresso Edition
  2. That Happy Reader
  3. Mind Beauty Simplicity
  4. Sarah Collins Bookworm
  5. Ramblings Of A Nobody

Have you read any of these? What did you think of them? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post!

  2. Congratulations on your nomination. It was an interesting read. And 60 books in a year is some goal (6 days a book on average?). Good luck and thanks for sharing x

    1. Yes there definitely are! Ooh that’s a good question, at the top of my head I’d say Not My Problem by Ciara Smyth, You’re The One That I Want by Simon James Green and maybe even It’s Behind You by Kathryn Foxfield and The Girls I’ve Been by Tess Sharpe (which are both thrillers, but there’s some great humour in there too!). Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting 🙂

  6. Congrats on the nomination!

DNFing is so challenging. I don’t do it too often, but sometimes I find I have to. If I cannot get into the book around the 25% mark then it’s usually a bust. I try and give them all a fair shot…but it has to be engaging. If not, I put it back on the TBR pile to be resisted later.

    1. Thank you! Yes it definitely is, I always feel so bad if I can’t finish – but it’s a habit I’m trying to break! I might have to try your 25% tip. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

  7. I always love posts like this because I get to know more about the person on the other end of the screen. Reading 60 a year sounds pretty amazing. I’m quite behind schedule for this year’s reading, and I guess I have to start prioritising. Anyway, thanks for this post!

  8. I love tag posts like this! It’s so nice getting to know the blogger behind the blog a little more and the fact this is book related makes it so interesting. I was actually looking at Even if We Break not that long ago… maybe I’ll give it a miss haha.

  9. Awww well done for the nomination that’s awesome 🙂 You’ve got some really cool questions here too, which is great. I also learned what DNF means. It’s rubbish when you get a book that’s so bad that you can’t finish it.
