Mini Book Haul: March 2022

Hi everyone! I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now and I’ve finally gotten around to writing it. Last month I actually did a reasonably big book haul, and I thought it would be nice to share with you! I hope you find something here that’s to your tastes.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

Genre: Fantasy

Goodreads: Crooked Kingdom

Initial Thoughts: Ok, so admittedly I still haven’t read Six Of Crows yet, but what I have read is the Shadow And Bone series… And I loved it! The world building was absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to see more of the Grishaverse when I finally get to this.

If This Gets Out by Sophie Gonzales and Carl Dietrich

Genre: Contemporary

Goodreads: If This Gets Out

Initial Thoughts: After reading Only Mostly Devastated and Perfect On Paper last year Sophie Gonzales became one of my favourite authors, but somehow I still haven’t read If This Gets Out yet… Despite it releasing way back in January! I’m super excited to read this, I think the boy band element is super interesting and I’m definitely intrigued to see what happens.

The Hawthorne Legacy by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Genre: Mystery

Goodreads: The Hawthorne Legacy

Thoughts: I actually just about managed to squeeze this in last month… And I loved it! This was such an amazing read, the twists, character development and characters were all absolutely spot on and it was even better than I expected! I’d definitely recommend picking up The Inheritance Games series.

Skin Of The Sea by Natasha Bowen

Genre: Fantasy

Goodreads: Skin Of The Sea

Initial Thoughts: After reading To Kill A Kingdom I was desperate for more Little Mermaid retellings… And I found myself reaching for this! This sounds like such an amazing read, the journey sounds really intriguing and I love the representation in this!

Burn After Writing by Sharon Jones

Genre: Non-fiction

Goodreads: Burn After Writing

Initial Thoughts: I’ve actually already started this, and it’s really interesting! The prompts are all very thought provoking and I’ve loved writing in it so far… I can’t wait to finish it! That being said, I don’t see myself burning it when I’m done – I’m already too attached to it!

So… There you have it! The five fabulous books I bought this March! I can’t wait to delve into these even more, they all look absolutely amazing and like some great reads.

Have you read any of these? What books have you been buying recently? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this haul!

Ceri

  1. The Grishaverse is my favorite collection of books, so naturally, I was thrilled to see Crooked Kingdom on your haul list here! I hope you enjoy the SoC duology as much as you liked Shadow and Bone. I’m still partial to S&B (I’m a huge fan of that style of fantasy) but I do love the cast of SoC! I’m also going through The Inheritance Games series right now and planning to read The Hawthorne Legacy in a couple of weeks. How fun! Enjoy!

  2. A lovely haul, Ceri, and lots to read over the coming weeks. I very much like the look of Skin Of The Sea – like you, I do love a good retelling. Have you read any Christina Henry novels? She writes some amazing reworkings of classic tales!
