The Spring Book Tag

Hi everyone! I can’t believe it’s already Spring; it feels like 2022 has only just begun. To celebrate the start of the season, I thought I’d participate in The Spring Book Tag. I’m not sure who originally started this tag, so if anyone does know please let me know in the comments below!

What’s on your Spring TBR list?

I actually just did a post on this last week, but, as you can see, I’ve got some exciting reads coming up!

If someone asked you for a spring release recommendation, what would it be?

Now that’s a tough one – there are so many great reads coming out next month! I think the one I’m most excited for would probably have to be She Gets The Girl by Rachael Lippincott and Alyson Derrick, though – it sounds like such a cute read and I love that it features two girls helping each other get their respective crushes, only to end up falling for each other. I can’t wait to get into it!

Which two books coming out before summer are you eagerly awaiting?

Two books I’m super excited to read this summer would have to be Love From Scratch by Kaitlyn Hill, and Blaine For The Win by Robbie Couch. They both promise to be some really adorable contemporaries which will be great to relax and read!

Which character would make a great Easter bunny?

I’ve thought about this a lot, and I think I’m going to go with Dobby from Harry Potter. I feel like he’d be the cutest Easter bunny – he’s so kind and I think everyone would have a lot of fun talking to him, too!

What book makes you think of spring?

Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith! I read this a couple of years ago now but it’s a really cute read, it follows the protagonist, who buys her best friend a lottery ticket… Only for him to win. I feel like it’s a great read for springtime!

Name a cover with flowers on it.

Instructions For Dancing by Nicola Yoon! I read this when it released last summer and I really enjoyed it… Evie and X’s chemistry was undeniable and I loved the dancing theme – as well as Evie’s interesting gift to see a couple’s whole future, of course!

Which two characters would you go on an Easter egg hunt with?

Fred and George Weasley from Harry Potter. I’m sure going on an Easter egg hunt with these two would be the most fun!

What is your favorite spring bookish activity?

Definitely just sitting outside and reading in the sun. The warmer weather is perfect for sitting in the garden and reading for a couple of hours!

Which book did you enjoy that has a spring-like cover?

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao! This was such a beautiful story, it was actually my first read of the year, and I really loved it. I think the cherry blossoms on this cover are super pretty and capture spring perfectly!

Who is your favorite contemporary author?

This is such a tough question! I think it would have to be Sophie Gonzales and Nicola Yoon, though – they’re both insanely talented, and I love their work!

Have you read any of these? Will you participating in this book tag? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to check out your post!

I hope you enjoyed this tag!

  1. Really good list. Heard a lot about Stephanie Garber’s novel but haven’t got around to reading it yet. The Hawthorne Legacy is fun. And Harry Potter brought back memories :). Loved the post. xx Je

  4. I love the fun book covers throughout this post! Your two top spring releases both look like perfect late spring reads, and I love the idea of Dobby as an Easter Bunny! An egg hunt with the Weasley twins also sounds too good to pass up . . . 😆

  5. Interesting to see your responses to the tags Ceri, obviously a Harry Potter fan! I don’t read enough any more to participate in these tag sessions but they are great fun. I actually can’t hold books to read them and I am not a great lover of audio books as I miss being immersed in the pages. Something about a real book isn’t there?

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed it – and yes absolutely, huge Potterhead here haha! Aw that’s so sad, I’m not big on audio books either though to be honest. Have you considered reading eBooks on a laptop or tablet? Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

      1. That’s a good idea Ceri but I don’t get on with e-books, I am a speed reader and I find I am constantly swiping on to the next page and get frustrated! Never mind, in my time I read thousands of books!

  6. Love this post – some great ideas (I might borrow one or two!). I love seeing what you’re planning to read in April. I’ve already pre-ordered 2 books and have several others in my book list. I just need to have a bit more time for reading.

  7. I love all your tag posts like this one. It is always so interesting to read about your thoughts for each question. Apart from Harry Potter I haven’t had the chance to read any of the other books you mentioned here. Most of them seem like pleasant reads.
