Hi everyone! Today I’m going to be sharing my first monthly wrap up of the year. The past couple of months have been super busy for me, I’ve had some really important mock exams recently as well as dealing with university applications. This meant that I couldn’t do my January wrap up, so I’ve decided to merge it with February’s. All in all I managed to read six books, which I think is pretty decent, and means I’m on track to hit my target of sixty this year!

You’ve Reached Sam by Dustin Thao
Rating: ✯✯✯✯✯
Thoughts: Wow… Just wow. I’ve been wanting to read this since it came out in November and I was lucky enough to get it for Christmas, and I think it’s safe to say that it was worth the wait. I still don’t fully have the words to do justice to this book but trust me when I say you need to read this. The ending had me in tears, and I think it’s safe to say this book will stay with me for a long time.

Blood Stew by Todd Sullivan
Rating: ✯✯✯✯✯
Thoughts: It’s safe to say that the finale of The Windshine Chronicles didn’t disappoint… In fact, it ended up being my favourite! I loved both the new and old characters and the quest in this one was the best to date. The multiple storylines kept things exciting and interesting, and it was so satisfying reading it all come together so nicely at the end! I would definitely recommend this series for any fan of fantasies, or just anyone generally looking for a great new series, and I’m incredibly grateful for Todd for sending me a physical copy of each book in exchange for an honest review.

A Change Of Seasons by Khurram Elahi
Rating: ✯✯✯
Thoughts: Khurram kindly sent me a digital copy of this in exchange for an honest review, which I really appreciated! This book wasn’t really my cup of tea, but I’m sure fans of psychological thrillers would love it (although it does have trigger warnings of animal torture and murder, so be mindful of that)! The twists and voice of the Jester were great additions although the cat scene really didn’t sit right with me. I also felt there were too many characters in the first half, which made it really difficult to properly connect with them.

Beckoning Of The Gate by Benjamin J. Ryan
Rating: ✯✯✯✯✯
Thoughts: Benjamin and his PR agent, Henry, kindly sent me a digital copy of this in exchange for an honest review, which I really appreciated! I really enjoyed this book, I’m not usually a big fantasy reader but this was a really amazing book! The world building was absolutely spot on and I loved the bonds the characters shared, as well as Santha herself, who was an incredibly strong protagonist. I would definitely recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a jam packed fantasy!

The Last Girl by Goldy Moldavsky
Rating: ✯✯✯✯✯
Thoughts: This was such a great read! The horror references scattered throughout were brilliant and the characters were also really elaborately thought out. It’s safe to say there was never a dull moment and I really loved how action packed this book was. I’d definitely recommend it for any fan of thrillers or horrors, that’s for sure!

The Ivies by Alexa Donne
Rating: ✯✯✯✯
Thoughts: This was a very quick and fun read! I loved Olivia’s character and the hypercompetitive atmosphere was an interesting setting, to say the least. I also really enjoyed Olivia and Avery’s friendship, which, despite some obstacles, was really great. Despite that, I did guess one of the major twists about thirty pages in, and there was nothing that particularly made it stand out from other books in the genre, meaning it was a little predictable. I would still recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and easy mystery though!
Have you read any of these? What books have you read this month? Let me know in the comments!
I hope you enjoyed this wrap up!
