Upcoming Releases: December 2021

Hi everyone! Today I’m going to sharing some of my most anticipated YA releases for this month. I actually struggled a lot to find new releases this month that weren’t part of a series, but these all look super exciting!

You’ll Be The Death Of Me by Karen McManus

Release Date: 2nd December

Genre: Mystery, thriller

Initial Thoughts: I’m such a big fan of McManus’ work, so when I saw this was coming out I knew I had to read it… Which is why I preordered a copy back in August! The concept of this one is just as intriguing as her previous work – three teenagers ditching school only to find themselves on the scene of a murder? Sign me up! I can’t wait to see what roads McManus will go down, and, knowing her, this will be incredibly twisty!

Seven Dirty Secrets by Natalie D. Richards

Release Date: 2nd December

Genre: Mystery, thriller

Initial Thoughts: This sounds like there’s going to be mystery and action to spare so I can’t wait to get stuck into it! The idea of a creepy scavenger hunt and the race against time has really caught me attention and I’m already trying to figure out who was behind it. I’m definitely excited to see all the dark turns this mystery will take!

I’m Dreaming Of A Wyatt Christmas by Tiffany Schmidt

Release Date: 9th December

Genre: Romance, contemporary

Initial Thoughts: This sounds like such a cute read! Regular readers of my blog will know how much I love Christmas, so this was an instant add to the list. The combination of ballet, babysitting and skiing is something I never would’ve put together but I’m really interested to see how Schmidt does it. I also love that Noelle is actually fourteen, which means that it’s perfect for those in the lower section of YA (even if it isn’t quite age appropriate for myself!)

Fools In Love by Rebecca Podos (and more)

Release Date: 16th December

Genre: Romance, contemporary

Initial Thoughts: This collection of short romance stories looks absolutely adorable! The idea of each of the stories putting a new spin on common tropes is such a refreshing one and it sounds like this will have some excellent representation, too!

How Not To Fall In Love by Jacqueline Firkins

Release Date: 21st December

Genre: Romance, contemporary

Initial Thoughts: This is another one which sounds absolutely adorable! I love a good friends to lovers romance, and so I’m super excited to get into this one. Harper and Theo sound amazing and I’m really intrigued to see how their lessons go… I’m sure they’ll be interesting, to say the least! This one also sounds like it has a lot of room for character development, which I love.

The Ballad Of Dinah Caldwell by Kate Brauning

Release Date: 23rd December

Genre: Thriller, contemporary

Initial Thoughts: The premise of this actually reminds me a lot of Sadie, and as I loved that, I knew I’d have to add this onto my tbr! Dinah sounds like such a strong and powerful protagonist and I’m already curious about her journey for revenge. I feel like this story has a lot of potential to get very dark, so I can’t wait to see whether or not that is the case!

The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska

Release Date: 28th December

Genre: Fantasy, romance

Initial Thoughts: I’ve actually been reading a lot of fantasy recently, so I’m super excited to continue the theme and pick this one up! The Polish culture and the general representation in this looks amazing and the concept of the two protagonists competing to win the prince’s heart only to fall for each other is absolutely perfect. This is definitely a must read for me!

Which book are you most excited for? Are there on your radar I haven’t included? Let me know in the comments!

I hope you enjoyed this post!
